College doesn’t have to be the stressful! With a location just a few blocks from campus, Greene Crossing keeps your student close to class and close to success. We know that a positive experience is of the utmost importance, so we’ve given students study rooms, a spacious fitness center, and social spaces like our multi-purpose clubhouse, courtyard pool and outdoor lounge. We’ve provided answers below to some of the most common questions about living at Greene Crossing!
How close are you to campus?
Greene Crossing is located just steps from campus! Located less than a mile from the Darla Moore School of Business and Greek Village, Greene Crossing provides convenient living for residents!
Do you offer parking?
Greene Crossing offers 2 surface parking lots and a secured garage parking! Call our office for details.
Do you allow pets?
Greene Crossing is pet-friendly and we love our furry residents! Contact the office for pet policy details.
What does it mean to have an individual lease?
At Greene Crossing, we rent by the bed space. Residents will share a common area but have their own private bedroom and bathroom. By the bed leasing means you will never be responsible for your roommates’ rent!
What if I don't have a roommate in mind?
No roommate, no problem! Greene Crossing offers a roommate matching system! If you don’t have anyone in mind that you or your student would like to live with, let us match them up with someone! There is a Roommate Matching Form that the resident will fill out to let us know more about what they are looking for in a roommate. Then, we figure out the best match based on that information.
How does the rental installment plan work?
To simplify the billing process for residents, our lease contracts are based on an Installment Plan. An installment plan means the total sum due for the entire term of the lease contract is broken up into 12 equal installments. Therefore, rent will not be pro-rated for the first or last month.
How do I pay rent?
Rent is due on the 1st of every month and can easily be paid online through the Resident Portal with a credit/debit card or eCheck option. Alternatively, you can always drop off or mail a check to the leasing office. Checks may be made out to ‘Greene Crossing’. We do not accept cash.
Do I have to pay a security deposit?
We do not charge a security deposit as long as there is an approved guarantor on the account. If you choose to not have a guarantor, we would require a security deposit equal to one month’s rent. Residents located outside of the US that do not have a social security number or guarantor are required to pay a security deposit equal to 2 months’ rent.
What if I need to break my lease?
Greene Crossing leases are legally binding and cannot be broken. If you cannot live at Greene Crossing after signing your lease, you will need to re-let and find a replacement for your space. Please call the leasing office for information on re-letting.
Is there insurance coverage?
Greene Crossing requires residents to obtain liability insurance. Greene Crossing has a preferred insurance partner, Assurant, but residents are free to pick their insurance provider.
What do I need to bring to my apartment?
We recommend that you bring toiletries, bedding for a full XL bed(we suggest Queen size!), clothing, dishes/cookware, and decorations to help make your new room feel just like home!
What furniture is included in my apartment?
This depends on the type of floor plan you have signed for!
∙ Studio – fullXL bed, dresser, desk and chair, club chair.
∙ 1 Bedroom – fullXL bed, dresser, desk and chair , coffee table, end table, entertainment stand, couch.
∙ 2 Bedroom – fullXL bed, dresser, desk and chair, coffee table, end table, entertainment stand, couch, club chair.
∙ 3 Bedroom – fullXL bed, dresser, desk and chair, coffee table, end table, entertainment stand, couch, club chair.
∙ 4 Bedroom – fullXL bed, dresser, desk and chair, coffee table, end table, entertainment stand, couch, love seat.
We suggest using queen size bedding and 96” length curtains! All apartments, minus studios, also come furnished with barstools for the kitchen area. Appliances included are washer and dryer, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator.
How do I request maintenance for my apartment?
You can submit a service request online through your resident portal. Our service team is on-site Monday-Friday and will complete service requests between the hours of 9AM-5PM. For after-hours emergency maintenance requests, a service member is on-call 24/7 for emergency requests (major leak, no heat or AC in extreme weather, no hot water, etc.). To contact emergency maintenance, dial 803-799-2900, wait for the prompt, and select the option for the after-hours emergency maintenance line.
